Does my system need power flushing?
Your heating systems will more than likely need power flushing if it has not had much attention paid to it. The tell tail signs that you heating system will need power flushing is that your radiators will be colder at the bottoms than the tops, have to bleed your radiators on a regular basis or noisy boiler and pipes. All new boiler installations must be power flushed according to manufactures instructions so not to invalidate their warranty.

When installing my new boiler/central heating system how much disruption will be caused?
This will depend on what you are having done for example if you are just having your boiler swapped the work will mostly be confined to were the existing boiler is situated, but when you are have a new central heating system this will be the most disruptive as we will need to get into most room and lift up carpets and floor boards to install the new pipes.

What is the difference between a heat only boiler and a combination boiler?
The main differences are that a combination combine's the need for hot water and heating in to one unit unlike a heat only boiler, which will have to incorporate hot a water cylinder and external controls like pumps and motorised valves unlike a combination boiler which has all of them inside.

What are the benefits of a combination boiler?
The main advantages are that you have hot water at mains pressure on demand which means when you open a tap you will have hot water with out the threat of it running out, also you do not need cold water storage tanks or hot water cylinders which will cut down the risk of flooding and will leave you with a dry loft which some insurance companies offer a discount.

What are the disadvantages of a combination boiler?
The main disadvantages of a combination boiler are that there is no stored hot water if the water is cut off or if the unit brakes down for any reason, also if you have more that one tap open at a time the water pressure may drop.

If I install solar collectors on my roof will it damage my roof?
No, all solar collectors that we use are designed to sit on top of the roof so to cause minimum disruption to your roof. The only disruption to the roof will be caused to secure the collectors to the roof and to pass the pipe work into the roof space. All instillations are weathered appropriately using the correct materials to seal the roof.

If my roof is not south facing can I still have solar?
Yes, even though south facing is the optimum position for you collectors you still can install solar on a southeast or a southwest position.

If I have solar installed do I have to change my hot water cylinder?
No you can retrofit you existing cylinder as long as it reaches existing building regulations and is an adequate size.

Do I need to have a particular tyre of roof for solar?
Solar collectors can been installed on the majority roof from pitched to flat and even on the ground.

How many collectors will I need for my house?
Well for example if you have a 200liter hot water cylinder you will need about 30 tubes or 2 panels but his will vary from the position of the roof to the type of Collectors that you use.

When installing ground source heat pumps in my home what are the best ways to collect the heat from the ground?
There are three main type of collecting heat from the ground, rock heat which will in tale boring one or two holes into the ground to the desired depth, soil heat which means will in tale burying piping about a meter deep and in an area of two and half time the floor plan of your house and the third is lake heat which in tales placing piping into a lake or a stream.
